Spotlight on Elton John

When you imagine 1970s glam rock, images of contrasting colours, oversize heels and, of course, highly embellished eyewear come to mind. When it comes to exaggerated eyewear, Elton John is definitely the king of it! His live performances put marvellous eyeglasses in the spotlight.
We love to look back at the glasses he wore. It's wonderful to think about the influence he had on bringing costume-like eyewear into mainstream culture. Oh, what fun to be an eyewear designer in the 1970s!
