Eye Exam Frequency Guidelines

Regulary eye exams are required to detecting subtle changes within your eye health. In some cases the eye exam guidelines below may need to be altered depending on your own situation. Patients with a higher risk of developing eye disease may need to be examined more regularly.

Infants (Ages 0-2) - First eye exam at 6 months of age
Pre-School(Ages 3-5) - First eye exam at age 3, then annually
School Age (Ages 6-18) - Annually
Adults (Ages 19-64) - Annually or Biannually
Seniors (Ages 65+) - Annually
Patients with Diabetes (All ages) - Annually
Contact Lens Wearers (All ages) - Annually
